Edathon Fluoropolymer Coatings for Eductors

This coating is applied via electrostatic powder spray or fluidized powder bed. In addition to possessing the high chemical and temperature resistance which all fluoropolymers are noted for, Edathon's strengths, radiation resistance, wear resistance, and creep resistance are significantly greater than those of other fluoropolymers such as PTFE, FEP, or PFA.

Chemical Resistance:
Edathon is a unique chemically resistant coating that allows parts coated with this fluoropolymer to be used in corrosive environments such as:

The above list is only a small sample of the successful applications. In addition, Edathon is essentially resistant to all common organic solvents except amines.
Abrasion Resistance:
Edathon coatings exhibit superb abrasion resistance. It is resistant to 90 lbs. of sandblast pressure and is not easily cut or "injured" by mishandling as is the case with most coatings. With a tensile strength of 7000 psi and a Shore D hardness of 75, Edathon is the strongest of all the fluoropolymers.
Parts coated with Edathon exhibit low permeability to both liquids and gases. For example: water vapor permeability @ 90% RH is 0.15 g/Mil/100 in 2/24 hr.
Service Temperature:
Edathon is a ductile, impact resistant material, retaining it's properties from cryogenic temperatures to 300° F
Non-Stick Characteristics:
Edathon coatings exhibit excellent non-stick characteristics. They are almost equal to Teflon in this respect.
Coating Thickness:
Edathon Fluoropolymer is usually applied in thicknesses ranging from 10-30 Mils. Excellent corrosion resistance is exhibited even at the 10 Mil thickness range.

  • Hardness: 93 (Rockwell R) / 75 (Shore D)
  • Impact Resistance (Izod, notched) @ 73° F: No break / @ -40° F : 2.3 ft-lb/in.
Electrical Properties:
  • Dielectric Strength: 2000 volts/mil
  • Dielectric Constant: 2.5
  • Arc Resistance: 135 seconds
Thermal Properties
  • Melt Point: 464° F
  • Brittleness Temperature: -105° F
  • Service Temperature: 300° F
  • Radiation Resistance: 200 megarads
